Kangna Ranaut is featured in this month’s Marie Claire looking so lovely and fresh-faced as she poses in Alberta Ferreti, Shivan & Naresh and dicusses star kid’s special treatment, acting being “just a business” and all that hardcore training she’s doing for Krrish 3!
Check out all the interview highlights (below),
“It doesn’t matter what people say about your performance or if you yourself think you’ve given it your best. You’re successful ony if you rmovie makes money. You’re accepted in this profession only if your film is a hit, doesn’t matter if you’re crap in your role. That is what it is. Its a business.”
- On acting being just a profession“The way its projected in the media with people saying ‘Oh we had a lot of fun on the set. Its such fun work.’ thats a wrong impression. You can’t fool around. If Gangster wasn’t a hit, I would have packed my bags and gone back to Manali right then.”
- On the reality of the business“Its actually such a silly thing. I was so young and naieve. They would ask me to look there and do this. And the camera, knowing Anurag now, was probably in a hole in a wal somewhere or so far away I couldn’t see it. I performed my first ever film role like that.”
- On being embrassed cause she had no idea where the camera was in Gangster“Of course they have an advantage, maybe the same as army kids getting a different quota everywhere they go. But the critics are partial. The media will worship them like they’ve done everybody a favour by simply deigning to make a film. No one ever gushed liek that about me, even when my films were hits.”
- Admitting that star kids are favoured“It was a phase I was going through. I though I’d do more mainstream Bollywood kind of stuff. But it didn’t work for me, I’m going back to my usual cinema.”
- Her choice of films over the past two years“To get into my character, a mix between Aeon Flux and Catwoman, I’ve been training in martial arts and kickboxing everyday. Guys might enjoy this sort of thing but its really just hard work for me. I had to lose weight to look the perform and do the action sequences.”
- On her role in Krrish 3
